Outreach ActivitiesOur team holds a high value in giving back to our community, and staying connected to those around us. Because of this, we have a strong social media presence, along with demonstrating and presenting our team to the community as often as we can. Here are some of the most recent events that we have attended!

Coding Club is a programming based club that is hosted at the Oconomowoc Public Library, by the Oconomowoc Robotics Program. This club was first created during the summer of 2017, with incredible success. The club was tailored for students ages 8-12, and ran for seven weeks during the summer. Students were able to learn the basics about competitive robotics and programming while utilizing the capabilities of VEX IQ robot construction kits. Students started by building a basic frame and attaching a brain and sensors. They continued by learning the basics of programming, and applying their new skills towards making LEDs flash on the robot, making motors spin, and making buttons activate functions. The course was wrapped up with them learning how to program their transmitter, letting them drive their own robots for a final teamwork competition developed specifically for this course.
This program was created and run by members of our own team, and led by one of our programmers, Nathan. We would like to thank all of the students, parents, sponsors, the Oconomowoc Public Library, and Nature Hill Intermediate for all of their help, support, and feedback throughout the program! This year was such a success that we are planning on continuing the program in the future! |
